So in these graphs on the diagonals the values are 42 to 46%. there is no way this means, that this is the percentage of wins that underdog gets. Rather I would assume this is the percentage of non-drawn games, that underdog wins. Lets assume that 80% of games are drawn, then the 6% difference in the orange/red boxes quickly becomes 1.2% (6% of all nod-drawn games is equal to 1.2% of all played games if the draw rate is 80%). Thats why they don have p-values or any mentions of how statistically-significant these results are or may be. But a difference of 1.2% is way less than the p value of 0.05, so this entire report would be rendered irrelevant if done correctly and the new statistics employees at chess com would look bad, just like their work 19:20 No the second graphs are not in classical. They are still in blitz results as the graphs still say, but accoutns are split into buckets according to classical ratings this time around. So a really weird way to do this analysis, evaluating blitz results whicle bucketing by classical ratings Using fide blitz ratings is, as I understand from you, purely inaccurate as it is not representative of a players blitz performance. Therefore it would have been much more useful if they would at least have included the same graphs but for chess com blitz ratings. But they didn't. I don't think they just forgot, as they included the second graphs which have zero useful value. I would assume that on chess com blitz rating values the graphs would not show significant results or might show contradicting results, so they kept them secret. And there's no way for anyone external to get on their data to veryfy or test their claims. Overall, just a not well hought out and executed statistical analysis
